Connection Order
A docking station is the hub of your desk setup, allowing you to connect multiple monitors and peripherals with a single cable. To ensure a stable connection, follow this order: connect the power brick to the dock first and wait for the status light to turn on. Then, plug in your monitors and USB devices (mouse, keyboard, webcam). Finally, connect the USB-C or Thunderbolt cable to your laptop. This allows the dock's internal controller to properly negotiate power delivery and data lanes with your computer. If you connect the laptop first, the peripherals may not be recognized correctly until the cable is unplugged and reseated.
Display Configuration
Once connected, your screens might be mirrored or in the wrong physical order. Right-click on your desktop and select 'Display Settings.' Here you can drag and drop the monitor icons to match their physical layout on your desk. Ensure the resolution is set to the 'Recommended' setting for each screen to avoid blurry text. If one monitor is not showing up, check the cable connection on the back of the dock; DisplayPort cables often require a firm 'click' to be fully seated. You can also use the 'Identify' button to see which screen corresponds to which icon in the settings menu, making it easier to align your mouse movement across screens.
