Physical Handling
Your company-issued laptop is a high-performance tool that requires careful handling. Always carry it in a padded sleeve or bag during transport. Avoid eating or drinking near the device to prevent liquid damage, which is the leading cause of hardware failure in our organization. Even a small spill can short-circuit the motherboard, leading to total data loss and expensive repairs. When opening the lid, always lift from the center rather than the corners to avoid putting uneven stress on the hinges and the internal display ribbons. Never leave your laptop in a hot car, as extreme temperatures can damage the battery and the liquid crystal display.
Cleaning the Screen
Use only a microfiber cloth and a small amount of screen-safe cleaner (70% isopropyl alcohol is acceptable). Never spray liquid directly onto the screen; instead, spray the cloth and gently wipe. Avoid using paper towels or tissues, as they contain abrasive fibers that can scratch the delicate surface of the display. For the keyboard, you can use compressed air to blow out dust and crumbs that might get stuck under the keys. If the keys become sticky, do not attempt to pry them off yourself; bring the device to the IT bar for a professional cleaning to avoid breaking the delicate scissor-switch mechanisms.
