IT Security and Clean Desk Policy

Clean Desk Requirement

To protect information, we enforce a 'Clean Desk' policy. When you leave your workspace—for the day or even lunch—no sensitive documents should be visible. This includes printed reports and sticky notes with passwords. Any sensitive paper should be placed in your locking pedestal or shredded. A clean desk reduces risk of internal data breaches and ensures visitors do not inadvertently see confidential info.

Workstation Security

Lock your computer every time you step away, even for coffee. Use **Win + L**. This prevents unauthorized access to email or files while you are away. Our policy mandates a 5-minute inactivity timeout, but you should never rely on it. An unattended computer is a risk for data theft or impersonation.
