Web Filtering Overview

To protect the company from malware and legal liability, we employ a web filtering system. This blocks access to known malicious sites, gambling, and inappropriate content. If you believe a site has been blocked in error, you can request an exception through the IT portal. The filter is updated daily with global threat intelligence to stay ahead of new phishing domains and malware distribution points. Note that the system also blocks 'Anonymizers' and certain 'P2P' file-sharing sites that are often used to bypass security controls. Access to the internet through the corporate network is a privilege intended for business-related research and communication.

Bandwidth Management

Streaming video or downloading large files for personal use is discouraged during peak business hours. Our network monitoring tools prioritize business-critical traffic, such as VoIP calls, database synchronization, and VPN traffic. Excessive personal use may result in temporary bandwidth throttling for your device to ensure that your colleagues' work is not impacted. We understand that occasional personal browsing is necessary, but please reserve high-bandwidth activities like 4K video streaming for your lunch break or after-hours. This collective effort ensures that our shared network infrastructure remains responsive for everyone during the busiest parts of the day.
