Connecting to Corporate VPN

Why Use VPN

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates an encrypted tunnel between your remote device and the corporate office. This is required to access file shares, internal websites, and specialized software that is not hosted on the public internet. Without the VPN, your traffic to internal resources is blocked by our external firewall for security purposes. The VPN also ensures that your internet traffic is protected from local snooping if you are working from a public location. It effectively makes your computer appear as if it is sitting directly on the office network, regardless of where you are in the world.

Connection Steps

Launch the VPN client from your system tray or applications folder. Select the gateway closest to your physical location (e.g., US-East, Europe-West) to minimize latency and improve overall connection speed. Enter your credentials and approve the MFA prompt on your phone. Once the icon turns green, you are securely connected. If you are prompted for a 'Group' or 'Profile,' ensure you select the 'General-Access' option unless otherwise instructed by your manager. Always remember to disconnect the VPN when your workday is over to free up bandwidth for other users and to reset your routing table for local tasks.
